Goals. We all have them. Some are lofty; meeting a quota at work, reaching a target audience as an author, finishing a degree, painting the living room. Some are simply for survival; change the diapers, do the laundry, clean the floors, make the food, get a shower! We are all running a race. Some of us are in sprint mode, while others of us are pacing ourselves for the long haul. Some of us are wearing the most currently trending fitness fashion, while others of us are wearing a stretched out stained tee shirt over our teenage sons old sweats. Some are weary, some are high on endorphins. Some feel energized, others defeated.
What I want to convey today is that it’s ok to run your own race in your own way with your own style! YES! Such good news for us competitive, comparative, crazy women! It is human nature to compare ourselves to others to measure how we are doing. But, when we take our eyes off the finish line to worry about what everyone else is doing, we undoubtedly slow ourselves down! It's two steps forward one step back in the comparison race... SO STOP IT!
Rock it in your own skin, in your own lane. God has gifted us each with different strengths, so be your best you, and let your peers be their best them! And root them on! We should be celebrating our differences and encouraging each other to run our best races. The “finish line” or as I like to call it, “heaven” awaits! Run hard my friends! Onward and upward!
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
