"helping people, family" "having good wealth" "friends and family"
A recent fall party at my niece's home challenged our children to create a colorful fall tree and write what they are thankful for. Those responses from my littles made me smile. I try to instill the importance of family and friends, of helping those less fortunate, and of being frugal with our resources. The upcoming holidays will challenge us all to prioritize family, friends and money. When God is at the top of our list of priorities, the others fall nicely into place, at a very distant 2nd, 3rd and so on.
Spending time in the Word each morning brings my focus back to Him who makes all things possible. I am better able to use my God filter throughout the day to see and move everything through Him for my good and His glory. The quiet time I spend with Him allows me to hear His voice so that He can direct my path.
Gratitude for family (ALL OF THEM!) and friends(YEP,ALL OF THEM, TOO) and especially for the grace that saved a wretch like me will be my focus this month, as the Holy Spirit grows me and stretches me to be a better mom, wife, sister, daughter and friend.
For a great start to spending time in His Word, try subscribing to one or all of the daily email devotions here, or search online. Also, consider listening to some of the many sermons from my church, Harvest Community Church, Kittanning PA. It may be just the jump start you need to put your focus on Him first.
Have a blessed day and Happy Thanksgiving!
