They’re back! Peepers! Those noisy little frogs announcing spring is almost here! And Robins! Those red breasted feathered friends chirping in a new season! Among the still dormant trees and mud, these are welcome sights and sounds. A sigh of relief from dark, cold evenings. A peek at longer warmer days and fun in the great outdoors. We lack sunlight here in PA and despite an incredibly mild winter, we long for warmth and sunshine, green grass and colorful blooms.
Attitudes improve, as does productivity. Reclusive behavior gives way to adventure and activity. A sense of hope abounds for life, for spring. Now, I am not naïve enough to think we have seen the last of snow. Yet there is light at the end of the wintry tunnel, and it beckons.
So it is with life. The seasons of dormancy and growth are the ebb and flow of our lives. Despite the periods of cold dark days, we who know Jesus know our light is always with us. We don’t have to wait to see the light and feel the warmth of His love. We need only be still. He is our shelter in the storm and our light in the dark. Like the peepers and robins give us a glimpse of spring, we get a preview of heaven when we live our lives here for Christ. He is the way, the truth and the light. No one goes to the Father but through Him. Oh what a glorious day it will be when every day for eternity is like the first day of spring! Life is good! Life in Jesus is amazing! Bring it on!
