And all through our home,
Is chaos and rushing,
But, I need to write this poem!
The stockings are hung,
The tree is adorned,
The gifts are wrapped,
And yet I feel torn.
The children are snug as bugs in their beds.
But just what are the visions in their heads?
Are they visions of stuff- toys and candies galore?
Of "What will I get?!" and "Can I have more?!"
Or are they visions of the baby,
Promised ages ago,
Born to save us from our sinful selves,
A Lord they will thirst to know?
The presence of our mighty King,
Is reason to celebrate,
Not once a year, but every day,
No matter what the date.
Christmas tradition in all its glitter,
Is appealing to our eyes,
But the love of Jesus in our hearts,
Is really what God desires.
Are you committed to Almighty God,
Who gave us Christ the King?
Or are you merely celebrating,
Parties, gifts and things?
As we muddle through the next few days,
Think about who you are.
Is Jesus in your life, your heart?
Would you follow the star?
Take a bit of time today,
To separate the holiday from your heart,
As we stand beside an unbeliever,
Can God even tell us apart?
Take a moment to contemplate,
The God who created us all,
The one who deserves the gala,
Who saved us from the fall.
Harden not your hearts today,
If indeed you hear His voice.
Accept, trust and surrender your life.
Only you can make that choice.
My prayer today is for all to answer,
When God calls out your name.
Accept the gift of Jesus and eternal life,
And your life will never be the same!!
T.A. Moore

God bless you and Merry Christmas from the Moores!
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”[a]
When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. ButMary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.Luke 2:8-20
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
