Change is not always easy. God often uses difficulty, trials and frustration to prompt change. Sometimes, well almost always, the change needs to be within ourselves. However it may include changing a job, a neighborhood,a church or even a circle of friends. God always knows what is best. It may involve a “yes” to an invitation or a “no” to continuing the path we are on. It is so important to listen for the Holy Spirit's guidance. It is vital to be in God's Word daily to hear Him speak into our lives regarding every day decision making. Do not ignore His promptings. I am finding peace in the changes I am making toward simplicity, but it is not without some sadness. I will see some people less frequently as I am less involved, but will be freer to spend time with others who need me and still others who encourage me.
By saying no to the same busy chaos, I am saying yes to calm and serenity; to stillness and gratitude. I am reminded of a blog from last year, “Pause, Pray and Have Peace.” Pausing and praying before moving toward something or away from something is what God desires of me. The product is always peace with God through Jesus Christ and His joy revealed. I have not always heeded that advice, but am finding renewed energy and dedication going forward.
Less really is more.
Less me; more God.
Less doing; more living.
Less pleasing; more believing.
Less struggling; more trusting.
Less seeking my will; More praying,”Thy will be done!”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
God is so much bigger than any adjustment we need to make in our lives. When our decisions are wise and for His glory, they will ultimately be for our good. Change can be positive, especially when it improves our health and well being and moves us closer to God and His will for our lives. Go ahead and take that first step! Have a blessed day!
